Sales Professional - Inside Sales
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate, relationship-driven Pre-Arranged Funeral Counselor to help strengthen our connections within the Jewish community and provide families with thoughtful guidance as they make important end-of-life and pre-planning decisions. You will serve client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements, acting as the primary contact for families while generating revenue for the cemetery.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation
- Prospect for a minimum of 1-2 hours each day
- Obtain referrals from families served by the location
- Network and build community and civic relationships
- Present to families served and referred families
- Maintain and track activity levels to ensure productivity
- Build Relationships with Families
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive, and professional manner
- Connect with families through listening, honest communication, and genuine concern
- Develop an understanding of each family’s unique needs and offer valuable solutions
- Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction
- Prepare for all appointments and perform all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
- Follow through on all customer problems and requests
- Build trust-based relationships to earn referrals
- Educate families on the benefits of pre-planning to protect family members and friends
- Teamwork
- Act as a continuous link from at-need services through aftercare to future pre-planning services
- Collaborate with funeral directors, location managers, and other staff to provide seamless, high-quality service
- Review previous services and contacts with families to prepare for current needs and sales
- Share family concerns with the rest of the team
Requirements
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of college or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience
- 1-2 years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred
- Experience working with, serving, or developing relationships within the Jewish community is highly valued
- Licenses
- Current state/province-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Insurance license if required by state/province law
- Skills and Abilities
- Must pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Frequent driving required
- Flexible hours; ability to work up to 12 hours in a day when necessary
- Ability to treat others with empathy and respect
- Basic computer and software knowledge
- Strong customer service skills
Pay
The estimated total target compensation for this position in the first year typically ranges from $50,000 to $100,000 annually based on a strong commission-based incentive structure. In subsequent years, sales professionals commonly earn $100,000 to $150,000 or more annually. Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, geographic location, and applicable business conditions. This position pays no less than $17.05 per hour for all hours worked.
