About the role
FAMSenior operates premier retirement communities in San Antonio, offering Independent Living and Assisted Living options with a commitment to “dedication in every detail.” The Sales Professional will be a key part of the sales team, focusing on occupancy development through phone outreach, tours, and resident transitions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of all communications with prospective customers using the lead management system specified by the Director of Sales.
- Possess and maintain strong knowledge of the community, its benefits, and services provided.
- Review Daily Activity Sheets from the Marketing Assistant.
- Stay current on competitors’ unique selling points, services, and rates.
- Follow up with all leads in a timely manner.
- Remain current on unit status and vacancy map.
- Assist the Marketing Assistant with move-in coordination when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness of the Discovery Room and model apartments; address maintenance or cleanliness concerns with the Director of Maintenance.
- Provide residents with all move-in paperwork and ensure completion and return within the specified time frame.
- Assist residents and their families with the transition process through ongoing communication, sensitivity, and reassurance.
- Inform all associates of pending move-in dates and relevant resident information.
- Provide direction and support to other sales staff to achieve and exceed sales and move-in goals.
- Maintain and protect confidentiality of resident information.
- Attend required community meetings and complete required reports neatly and on time.
- Be available to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Encourage teamwork and promote company philosophy.
- Perform required duties on a regular, predictable basis.
- Become familiar with and understand the steps for fire evacuation; maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents.
Requirements
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; bilingual a plus.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook; basic typing skills required.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to Independent Living and Assisted Living communities.
- Able to generate a warm, friendly, and caring first impression.
- Familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act in all aspects of the job, including sales presentations and marketing materials.
- Possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens.
- Associate’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Proven sales track record and effective selling and closing skills.
- Prior experience in senior sales and marketing environment preferred.
- Public relations experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and/or walk up to 75% of the day.
- Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
- Able to tour through the entire building, up to one mile, occasionally pushing a wheelchair.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 35 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, and reach.
- Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Subject to infectious diseases, substances, odors, etc. throughout the workday.
