About the role
The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with various social and spiritual needs. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities, offering clean and healthy living environments, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Our goal is to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This position supports the work therapy program by demonstrating professional conduct and work habits.
Responsibilities
- Aid in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
- Support store operations as needed, including serving all customers courteously and efficiently.
- Handle donations and donors with respect and care.
- Maintain merchandise in proper categories and colorization.
- Safeguard the store from theft, handle customer complaints, and report any unsafe conditions.
- Ensure the store is adequately stocked and "ragged out" according to the "ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR."
- Clean and maintain the store property.
- Be familiar with and adhere to store policies.
- Support the work therapy program by setting a positive example for beneficiaries.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English for interactions with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to follow directions.
