Performs various selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers, handling merchandise, providing information and assistance, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service.
  • Demonstrates product to customers.
  • Replenishes product on shelves per merchandising guidelines.
  • Remains a product expert through ongoing training.
  • Maintains knowledge of advertised sales, pricing, and signing.
  • Assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
  • Restocks merchandise as required.
  • Keeps work area clean, neat, and well-stocked with supplies.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Assists customers in making buying decisions by:
    • Identifying and evaluating customer needs.
    • Making product recommendations based on analysis.
    • Promoting programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Occasionally repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment.
  • Light work: move objects up to 20 pounds constantly; may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
  • Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.

Independent Judgement

Performs tasks under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $17.13 - $18.75 per hour.
