ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit sales and customer service coordinators; implement sales orientation and training programs.
- Manage assigned sales staff and assist with skills development, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
- Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
- Act as a resource to sales staff in contract opportunities and proposals.
- Aid sales staff with pricing, closing the sales and developing sales plans for accounts.
- Attend trade shows.
- Cook up and assist in leading sales meetings.
- Maintain current knowledge of products.
- Monitor competitive activity and develop new methods to capture and retain customers.
- Answer questions from customers and resolve complaints.
- Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or related field and minimum five (5) years of strategic, sales management experience in the plastic pipe, building materials industry, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Previous sales leadership experience within the waterworks, municipal, or infrastructure markets.
- Experience selling building materials, waterworks products, underground utilities, or related construction or industrial products.
- Proven success managing multi-level sales teams, including sales managers and individual contributors.
- Strong understanding of municipal bidding processes, contracts, and long-term customer relationship management.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans in competitive, relationship-driven markets.
