A growing chemical distribution company is seeking experienced Sales Managers to join its leadership team in Chino, California. This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who understands chemical distribution, customer relationships, gross profit, margins, pricing, and sales-team performance. The selected candidate will work directly with company ownership, receive hands-on mentorship, and have a clear long-term path toward assuming broader leadership responsibility for the sales organization. This is not a traditional corporate sales-management position focused primarily on reporting and administration. The company is looking for a hands-on sales leader who can lead from the front, coach sales professionals, drive accountability, protect margins, and contribute directly to business growth.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with ownership to understand business strategy, customers, and sales operations.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop junior sales representatives.
- Support and motivate experienced sales representatives.
- Establish accountability around sales activity, pipeline development, and business results.
- Monitor gross profit performance and maintain strong margin discipline.
- Review pricing, profitability, and deal structures.
- Develop new business and expand existing customer relationships.
- Drive territory growth and customer retention.
- Analyze sales performance, trends, pipeline activity, and market opportunities.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of sales talent.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and leadership.
- Contribute to strategic growth and expansion initiatives.
- Progress toward broader responsibility for leading the sales organization.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in chemical distribution sales.
- Previous experience in sales leadership, team management, mentoring, or supervision.
- Strong understanding of gross profit, margins, pricing, and profitability.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships and close business.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Experience managing or supporting multiple sales representatives.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Currently based in California or willing to relocate to California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading both senior and junior sales representatives.
- Existing relationships within chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or distribution markets.
- Experience managing incentive-driven sales teams.
- Experience growing territories or scaling sales organizations.
- Background in specialty chemicals or industrial chemicals.
