About the role
FLS has an exciting growth opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join our team, driving the execution of sales strategy for capital mining projects and products within our North American region (US, Canada, Mexico, Central America & Caribbean). The position will be based in the western United States (Phoenix, Tucson, Denver, or Salt Lake City) and will require up to 50% travel.
FLS’s Capital Sales Team is primarily focused on transacting FLS Mineral Processing and Mine Shaft Systems solutions into greenfield projects and brownfield expansion projects at operations.
Responsibilities
- Actively engage in business development within the region and establish/maintain an effective network within the industry.
- Provide local account management in key client headquarters and regional offices.
- Leverage proven prior experience and relationships with EPCM offices in the region.
- Understand the breadth of FLS product and service offerings and engage appropriate resources to present the strongest technical solutions and value propositions to solve client challenges.
- Stay up to date on mining news relevant to the region, ensure FLS visibility, and identify qualified opportunities.
- Assist in developing, owning, and leading the implementation of strategy for FLS’ project pursuits.
- Maintain an appropriate and qualified pipeline of opportunities in the FLS CRM platform.
- Travel to conferences, attend/host industry events, and visit customers to understand opportunities and position FLS solutions.
- Manage complex proposal preparation, review, and submission through order negotiation, customer acceptance, and sales-to-execution handover meetings.
Requirements
- Degree or certification in Business, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Deep understanding of how mining projects are permitted, developed, financed, and executed.
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in sales and/or project delivery in the mining industry.
- Experience effectively interfacing with clients, gaining credibility, and developing project-specific sales strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English proficiency is required; Spanish is an asset).
- Ability to respect internal and external deadlines and work independently to meet them.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint).
- Reside in or near a major mining-centric community such as Denver, CO; Phoenix or Tucson, AZ; or Salt Lake City, UT.
