About the role
The Associate Lead is primarily responsible for supporting management in the general operations of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. This position performs various sales and register transactions and may be found in multiple brands, with some duties varying by brand.
Responsibilities
- Promote customer service by ensuring associates greet and assist customers; respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform basic operations activities including cash handling and reporting, price changes, merchandise handling, and open and closing duties; review time sheets and other payroll documentation for accuracy and submit as appropriate.
- Monitor associate sales activities and productivity; acknowledge and communicate performance to associates; motivate and train associates to achieve goals.
- Maintain awareness of customers to increase service levels and reduce security risks; remain current on operational policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions; present and display merchandise in accordance with current promotions and standards.
- Support and administer receipt and dispatch of inventory and supplies according to company policy.
- Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory receipt, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
- Prepare weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage within fiscal guidelines.
- Model sales expectations by utilizing various techniques and communicating product knowledge to customers; recommend merchandise selections or help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
- Build and maintain a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobing.
- Maintain standards in merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and all other duties as directed by management.
- Participate in and facilitate visual directives including monthly store sets and merchandise replenishment.
- Assist in the development of store associates; interpret Key Performance Indicator reports and deliver coaching as needed; provide feedback to the Store Manager for associate performance appraisals and evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Minimum 2 years prior retail or sales management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Ability to travel to stores throughout the district.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
- Ability to communicate with customers, stand and maneuver on the sales floor and stockroom, operate a register, lift and carry 50 pounds, hand/fold merchandise, climb, reach, and push/pull.
- Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage to meet company objectives.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
Pay
The wage range for this position is $13.77–$17.20. Successful candidates’ wage rates will be determined based on their individual qualifications for the position.
