About The Role
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) seeks to assist men and women in completing their rehabilitation programs. The organization values its employees and relies on their dedication and diligence.
Responsibilities
- Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management, and ARC merchandising standards.
- Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager.
- Discusses concerns with the District Sales Manager.
- Aids the Store Manager in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
- Schedules Store Employees to ensure appropriate coverage in the store and donation center.
- Captures and coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings.
- Provides coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
- Responsible for the processing of paperwork per Review Standards, especially as it relates to Time and Attendance compliance.
- Ensures high levels of Customer and Donor satisfaction through excellent service to meet their needs while also maintaining good Community relations.
- Develops strategies to improve service to maximize the customer experience.
- Supports the Store Manager to ensure Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates work effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
- Supervises, supports, and reports on program Beneficiaries if Work Therapy Assignments are implemented at the store.
- Protects and secures the store's currency, inventory, and property during non-operating hours.
- Ensures the building is secured with an alarm system and follows safety measures as per ARC policy and governmental regulations.
- Aids in conducting and recording mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks (written or verbal) as assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of previous retail experience and supervisory experience preferred.
- Pass a background check, which includes a Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, and rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Pay and Schedule
The pay rate is $17.40 per hour. Stores operate 7 days per week, and part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
