About The Role
The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) seeks to assist men and women in completing their rehabilitation programs. The organization values its employees and relies on their dedication to "Do The Most Good" through its retail efforts.
Responsibilities
- Takes an active role in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management, and ARC merchandising standards.
- Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations, including personnel and cash handling, in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager.
- Discusses concerns with the District Sales Manager.
- Aids Store Manager in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
- Schedules Store Employees to ensure appropriate coverage in the store and donation center.
- Captures and coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings.
- Provides coaching, training, and development to Store Employees.
- Ensures high levels of Customer and Donor satisfaction through excellent service and maintains good Community relations.
- Develops strategies to improve service and maximize the customer experience.
- Supports Store Manager in ensuring Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates work effectively and efficiently.
- Supervises, supports, and reports on program Beneficiaries if Work Therapy Assignments are implemented.
- Protects and secures store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds, bank deposits, products for sale, store equipment, and building security.
- Maintains safety measures according to ARC policy and governmental regulations, and reports safety issues and incidents immediately.
- Conducts and records mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
- May transfer or relocate to other stores based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of previous retail experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Pass a background check, including a Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Effective communication skills with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, and rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Pay and Schedule
The pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
