Sales Intern (Paid)

About the Role

A branch Sales Internship designed to grow your career with the leading equipment rental provider. You will learn the sales process through inside and outside sales while focusing on customer service excellence. The goal is to develop invaluable skills and industry knowledge, positioning you to become a Sales Associate upon degree completion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety training, including proper use of personal protective equipment, safe handling of equipment, and adherence to safety policies.
• Support operational efficiency in the branch yard: equipment check-in, washing equipment, and assisting customers.
• Shadow inside and outside sales teams to understand roles, responsibilities, and United Rentals’ customer-focused approach.
• Train on systems such as RentalMan and Salesforce.com.
• Engage in departmental and cross-functional meetings, ride-alongs, work sessions, conference calls, and webinars.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in sales or a related major.
• Prior relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and project components simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive and sense of urgency.
