Sales Intern

About the role

The Sales Intern supports retail equipment sales by assisting customers, shadowing Sales Representatives, and participating in equipment demonstrations, inventory management, and marketing activities. This role provides exposure to sales, service, and parts departments while building knowledge of equipment, technology, and dealership operations in a professional and safety‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Customer Engagement: Assist retail customers in the purchase of turf and compact equipment and perform follow‑up activities after sales.
• Sales Support: Work side‑by‑side with an experienced Sales Representative to learn the selling process, relationship development, and negotiation skills.
• Inventory & Marketing: Assist with equipment inventory audits and help set up equipment for display and marketing.
• Demonstrations: Help conduct product demonstrations and explain features and benefits to potential customers.
• Technical Integration: Gain proficiency in precision agriculture technology and company‑specific software systems.
• Department Exposure: Receive exposure to other departments, such as parts and service, to understand the full dealership operation.
• Job Shadowing: Shadow Product Specialists, Service, Sales, and Parts personnel.
• Safety Practices: Conduct work in a safe manner, wearing safety glasses and steel‑toed shoes, and follow all company safety rules and guidelines.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintain work area in a clean, neat, and safe condition.
• Meetings & Training: Attend meetings and training events as assigned.
• Professional Image: Present a positive, professional image in dress and conduct at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience with farm machinery or in a retail environment is welcomed, but not required.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Licensing: Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving history.
