About the role
Fall Creek is seeking a qualified Sales & Grower Support Representative to support clients in Washington and British Columbia, Canada. This position will be located in or near Bellingham, Washington State, and will require frequent travel within the assigned region and occasional international travel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary representative to assist customers with all aspects of the sales process, including plant ordering, availability, terms and conditions, and other interactions.
- Provide product support and technical assistance to commercial customers in the assigned region, including on-site evaluation, pre-plant preparation, variety selection, and post-plant cultural care.
- Identify and develop new accounts in the assigned territory.
- Support new and existing licensees with technical product support and facilitate plant orders as required.
- Provide feedback and timely intel to management regarding the state of the industry and competition.
- Use Fall Creek’s CRM to record all observations, activities, daily tasks, sales opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Provide support and input on horticultural and commercial issues to the Global Commercial Team.
- Ensure each order is accurate, and each customer understands Fall Creek’s fulfillment process, timelines, and the role of customer service and logistics teams.
- Build opportunities in the CRM to provide critical data for sales and demand forecasting.
- Report field observations on variety and selection performance to R&D, Applied Research, and the Commercial department.
- Represent the company at regional meetings, tradeshows, and industry events.
- Schedule and manage existing and prospective customer visits to Fall Creek nursery locations and farm operations.
- Provide a high level of customer-focused service and support Fall Creek’s core values and corporate culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Crop Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 7+ years of sales-related, technical, and customer service experience in an agricultural business, preferably in the blueberry industry.
- Results-driven and customer-focused with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of agronomic topics such as soil & water chemistry, plant nutrition, irrigation, fertigation, and crop management.
- Proven track record of building successful, professional relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office products.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license in the assigned territory.
Qualifications
Strongly preferred qualifications include experience in blueberries or a similar horticultural crop, and previous experience working with an ERP and/or CRM system, preferably SAP and/or Salesforce.
