About the role
As a Sales Floor Team Member, you will ensure continuous quality checks on sales floor products, merchandise hard and soft line items according to standard procedures, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. This position includes cross-training for additional duties such as cash register operations.
Responsibilities
- Stock the sales floor with newly processed merchandise, fitting room go-backs, and new items as directed.
- Complete pushing of carts within the prescribed time frame.
- Check merchandise for quality and report issues to management; pull inventory for quality and rotation.
- Increase efficiency in adding and displaying merchandise on the sales floor.
- Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude toward customers at all times.
- Greet customers within 10 seconds of arrival in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
- Assist customers in locating and selecting merchandise; address concerns courteously while following retail policies.
- Operate the cash register, package merchandise, and ask customers for round-up donations (maintain a minimum 25% round-up average).
- Ensure accurate payment collection and maintain proper cash balance in assigned till per over/under policy.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized store environment (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors).
- Act as a positive team member by sharing ideas or concerns with coworkers and management in a timely and supportive manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Open and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; previous retail experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand documents (e.g., time cards, policy manuals), write routine reports, and communicate clearly with employees and customers.
Work Environment
Primarily works in a comfortable store environment. May be exposed to outdoor conditions when receiving donations and to a warehouse-like environment in the donation processing area.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending over, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/carrying of 51–75 lbs. and pushing/pulling with a max force of 21–39 lbs.
- Rare or no sitting, crawling, or lifting over 75 lbs.
