Responsibilities

  • Provide resources and tools to support associates delivering the best customer service.
  • Assist with down‑stocking and area recovery, and contribute input to merchandising decisions.
  • Monitor use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and proper lifting techniques.
  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver an excellent customer experience through coaching, training, delegating, follow‑up, performance management, and ensuring adequate department coverage.
  • Perform customer‑facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales.
  • Handle non‑customer‑facing duties including down‑stocking, inventory management, and area recovery.
  • Conduct store safety activities: safety walks, hazard reporting, and adherence to safety and lifting directions.
  • Communicate upward to keep management informed of concerns, issues, praises, and morale.
  • Occasionally open or close the store and serve as manager‑on‑duty (MOD) as needed.
  • Supervise associates in other departments when required to meet store demands, leveraging broad product knowledge across departments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years retail experience, or 5 years retail experience.
  • 1 year customer‑service experience.
  • 1 year experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct‑report responsibility).
  • Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years retail customer‑service experience.
  • 3 years experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience with direct‑report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home‑improvement retail sector.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Key‑carrying role experience with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
  • Experience using store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).

Schedule

Hourly Full‑Time position, generally scheduled 39–40 hours per week; additional hours may be required based on store needs. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.

Pay

Pay range: $20.70 – $21.55 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
