About the role
The Sales Development Representative Fellowship is a 16-week in-person (Tulsa) program designed to train and upskill candidates passionate about sales in technology. It offers an opportunity to transition into a career as a Sales Development Representative in technology sales for exceptional individuals who might not have taken a traditional employment or academic path. The Fellowship provides hands-on technology sales development training in a collaborative in-person environment at our downtown Tulsa office. Participants are considered for a full-time Sales Development Representative position at Tenstreet upon completion.
Candidates Profile

- You have worked in fields outside of sales and technology and are looking to make a change.
- You could be working in retail, hospitality, education, a veteran, you name it. This could be your "second act."
- You do not have a degree and it's been a barrier for you to sales opportunities.
- You have an associate or bachelor’s degree but don't want to work in that specific field.
- You want to return to the workforce
- You have a gap of employment that is a barrier for you re-entering the workforce.
Responsibilities
- Being the first point of contact for new business prospects, primarily through cold calling via the telephone.
- Prospecting, researching, and identifying new leads by using a variety of approaches including online searches and industry-specific searches.
- Moving prospects through the top of the sales funnel by setting appointments with the sales team (the Salesperson will conduct a demo online via Zoom/GoToMeeting).
- Checking in with prospects who missed their scheduled demo, rescheduling demos with clients who couldn’t show at their previously scheduled time.
- Identifying key decision-makers within these prospects.
- Updating Tenstreet’s sales tools (Sugar CRM, SalesLoft, etc.) with the up-to-date information.
- Collaborating with the Sales team to develop and grow the sales pipeline.
- Honing your craft as a salesperson to be an exceptional SDR.
- Uncovering ways Tenstreet might improve processes or products that add value to our clients.
Qualifications
- A strong desire to be a Sales Development Representative and a willingness to prove your capabilities in sales.
- A self-starter who gets things done, comfortable with cold-calling potential clients to prospect for basic information to pass on to the sales team.
- Exceptional phone and writing skills, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a productive and supportive team member.
- An inspiration by great products and a desire to work with a product you can believe in.
- A positive attitude towards challenges and failures, thriving in an unstructured, ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
