Sales & Events Coordinator

Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk is seeking a detail-driven, people-first Sales & Events Coordinator to support our Sales and Events team. You'll be at the center of the action — managing inquiries, moving leads through the pipeline, coordinating event logistics, and making sure every client feels taken care of from first contact through final execution. Responsibilities

• Answer incoming sales and events inquiries by phone and email with professionalism and responsiveness
• Follow up on leads and route them to the appropriate team members; track lead status and follow-through
• Schedule and conduct property tours for prospective clients — corporate accounts, social events, and group business
• Assist Event Managers with preparation of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), proposals, and event documentation
• Support client communication throughout the planning process, ensuring timely updates and follow-through on every commitment
• Maintain organized records of inquiries, contracts, and event files in the sales system
• Coordinate with front desk, food & beverage, and operations teams to support seamless event execution
• Assist with site visits, FAM trips, and client entertainment as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in hotel sales, events, catering, or a related hospitality or customer-facing role preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — you represent the property in every interaction
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
• Familiarity with Delphi, CI/TY, or similar sales and event management software is a plus — we'll train the right person
• Team player who takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys working with people
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable in a full-service hotel environment
