About the role

Meter is building the modern networking infrastructure that businesses like Lyft and Reddit rely on to stay connected. As a Majors Sales Engineer, you will partner with our Majors Sales team to bring better networks to more customers by using your technical expertise to win over the hearts and minds of IT and network engineers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales team to design and build the technical engine needed to chase down legacy vendors in a giant industry that hasn’t seen a successful new entrant in decades.
  • Build relationships with key teams including Sales reps and leaders, Sales Engineering peers, hardware/software product design and manufacturing teams, and network deployment/maintenance teams.
  • Lead technical discovery calls to understand customer pain points and frustrations with legacy solutions, and deliver world-class demonstrations to inspire and get buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Design and build technical solutions for prospects that help the Sales team win deals, and contribute to an immediate increase in committed quarterly Enterprise revenue of $1M+.
  • Help the Sales Engineering team build process and structure, design new assets for common Enterprise use cases, and standardize documentation and training for core networking areas.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to create urgency and drive deals forward, and translate customer feedback directly to the Product team to influence the hardware and software product roadmap.
  • Specialize in leading strategic accounts or move into a leadership track, potentially hiring, mentoring, and defining onboarding for the next cohort of Sales Engineers at Meter.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in TCP/IP, 802.11ax/be, TLS, DHCP, DNS, NAT, 802.1X, VPNs, SD-WAN, IDS/IPS, Multicast, OSPF, BGP & EVPN-VXLAN.
  • Experience with standard industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, CWDE, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE, Network+, Security+.
  • Highly motivated and passionate about networking, with a desire to disrupt traditional enterprise networking practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results and influencing the direction of the company.
