About the role
The Sales Engineer will lead the technical conversation in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving quality, operations, and IT functions. They will run demos, trials, and handle technical and security questions, building a toolkit that the team can rely on.
What You'll Do
- Lead the technical selling on complex and enterprise deals, including demos, trials, and answering technical and security questions.
- Build and own the demo environments, walkthrough scripts, and answers that enable Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to run their own initial demos and walkthroughs.
- Coach and enable Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to confidently handle simpler technical deals.
- Be a trusted technical partner to buyers in quality and IT, translating technical details into a clear business case.
- Work alongside sales, product, and customer success across the customer journey, from initial conversations to smooth onboarding for key customers.
What Success Looks Like In The Role
- Influence the win rate on deals requiring a technical evaluation.
- Help Account Executives and Customer Success Managers confidently run their own initial demos and walkthroughs.
- Build and own a technical toolkit that the team uses and trusts, updated as the product evolves.
- Contribute to increasing the number of technical deals the team can support well.
- Ensure smoother, faster trials and handoffs on technical deals.
- Provide feedback that shapes the product roadmap.
About You
- A strong technical understanding of a software platform, and genuine comfort working with technical buyers in quality and IT.
- The ability to translate technical detail into a clear, commercial story that busy operations leaders can act on.
- The drive to win by solving real problems, resulting in loyal customers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
- The organization and independence to build and improve a technical capability over time.
- A track record of creating reusable materials and processes that help a team work better.
Nice to have
- Experience in quality, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
- Experience in setting up a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions capability.
