Responsibilities

  • Lead technical sales for C&I and utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Develop scopes, preliminary engineering, and conceptual designs.
  • Engage early with customers, consultants, utilities, and EPCs to influence the basis of design, using bid specifications, utility requirements, and project documentation to guide system architecture.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility reviews, and DER introductions.
  • Interpret RFPs, bid specifications, utility interconnection requirements, and engineering drawings.
  • Prepare proposals, layouts, single-line diagrams, and technical narratives.
  • Collaborate with development, engineering, project management, and electrical sub-contractors.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years in technical sales within BESS, UPS, microgrids, or power systems.
  • Ability to interpret RFPs, bid specifications, technical drawings, and utility requirements.
  • Strong understanding of BESS components (PCS/inverters, BMS/EMS, safety systems, balance-of-plant).
  • Familiarity with large critical-power systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Must reside in Colorado; willingness to travel up to 70% within the state.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record to meet company insurability standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • Experience in both turnkey development and equipment-only strategies.
  • Familiarity with solar PV, EV charging, and multiple DER systems.
  • Working knowledge of UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855, NEC, IEEE 1547.
  • Ability to support basic financial modeling (IRR, NPV, LCOS).
  • IndO Minimum Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing.

Benefits

The total compensation (base plus incentive) for this position is $90,700.00 to $136,000.00. Benefits include:
