Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate metal building estimates and preliminary designs using pricing and design tools.
- Ensure estimates comply with current building codes, design standards, and manufacturing requirements
- Use value-engineering to deliver cost-efficient, buildable, and optimized design solutions
- Review project documents to identify missing information, discrepancies, and required clarifications; appropriately qualify estimates
- Provide technical guidance for non-standard or complex design conditions
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Estimating teams to clarify scope, assumptions, and design intent
- Support training efforts for Sales and Estimating teams related to pricing tools, design concepts, and best practices
- Maintain continuous improvement in technical knowledge, productivity, and engineering capability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field
- 3+ years of PEMB experience or experience in related structural/metal building fields
- Proficiency with engineering/estimating software (e.g., MBS) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audience
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
