About The Role We are seeking a driven and technically minded Sales Engineer to drive new business development, expand existing accounts, and manage the full sales process from opportunity identification through project closeout. This role combines technical sales, business development, estimating, and customer relationship management. The Sales Engineer will prepare technical proposals, develop solutions, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and present controls solutions to customers, engineers, owners, and other decision-makers. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver who can build lasting customer relationships while balancing technical requirements, project scope, and financial performance. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, typically working 8-hour shifts during standard office hours, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by understanding customer needs and delivering effective solutions.Develop new business opportunities while managing and growing existing accounts.Prepare quotes, estimates, and scopes of work based on takeoff plans, specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.Manage the entire sales process from opportunity qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close.Bid plan-and-spec, design-build, and direct-owner projects.Communicate project requirements, scope, schedule, and cost information effectively with Operations and internal teams.Track and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and pricing.Qualify opportunities and prioritize the sales pipeline based on customer needs, strategic value, and revenue potential.Contribute to financial projections and monitor project margins to support profitability.Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information in the CRM system.Collaborate with sales leadership to develop go-to-market strategies and refine value propositions.Conduct post-project follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and identify future sales opportunities.Present service options and Support Agreements to new and existing customers.Conduct demonstrations of Automated Logic WebCTRL software for owners, engineers, customers, and trade-show attendees.Participate in industry associations, networking events, trade shows, and other business development activities.Travel occasionally, including occasional overnight travel. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in a technical or construction-related environment.2+ years of HVAC, Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls, or related industry experience preferred.Experience estimating projects from plans and specifications.Ability to value-engineer control system designs.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with technical proposal development and project bidding is a plus.
