Sales Engineer
About the role
The Customer Support Team is seeking a hybrid/remote Sales Engineer to provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. This role supports the Business Development team in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and prepares detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provides pre-sales, post-sales, and customer support for all TrellisWare product offerings both onsite and remotely.
- Supports sales and business development leads in securing of new business; field troubleshooting of products and integrations; and trade show booth duty support.
- Evaluate customer requirements and determine technical configurations and generate product quotations in coordination with sales management.
- Craft and deliver technical presentations of TrellisWare offerings to new and existing customers.
- Supports field demonstrations, product training, integration with 3rd party accessories (antennas, headsets, power sources, cameras, microphones, etc.), applications (voice, IP data, video, etc.) and product documentation.
- Draft’s demonstration and application sample white papers as needed as well as assesses new accessories or applications capable of extending the effectiveness of company products.
- Performs technical and integration support of sales pursuits, trade shows, customer demonstrations and field exercises, and documents both interesting field accomplishments as well as any observed anomalies.
- Supports related product documentation throughout the product line.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Absolutely no travel required.
- Strong understanding of IP data including addressing schemes, IP switches/router interface, gateway functionality, TCP/UDP protocols and the best methods for transfer over data pipe.
- Understands the military communications markets and their deployment practices including USSOCOM, Army, Navy and Air Force as well other government agencies and the tactical communications products they use.
- Proficient with PC office applications.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical integration for when customers decide they want to integrate radios into cars, or aircraft, or ships, etc.
- Ability to understand complex communication and engineering concepts and explain them to customers in simple, understandable ways.
- Familiarity with design, manufacturing, testing, and sales procedures for volume handheld and embedded radio products.
- Familiarity with wideband networked military and commercial communication products and government contracting.
- Works independently, demonstrates initiative and interacts with a variety of engineering development teams, acquisition/procurement specialists and communications and/or networking product users.
- Displays professionalism in customer-facing field events.

Qualifications
- Four-year technical degree or military related service experience equivalent.
- At least 5+ years related experience in the market or technology segments identified.
- Demonstrates track record in fielding and troubleshooting RF systems and networked communications products.
- Understands the military communications markets and their deployment practices including USSOCOM, Army, Navy and Air Force as well other government agencies and the tactical communications products they use.
