Sales Engineer
Role and Responsibilities
Partner with account executives as the technical lead on opportunities across Docufree’s priority industries (financial services, insurance, government and education, healthcare, and legal), owning the technical win.
Lead technical discovery to uncover requirements, pain points, and document-driven process challenges, and architect the right solution across Capture (ScanCloud), management (DocumentCloud), and automation (AutomateCloud).
Design, scope, and manage proofs of concept (POCs) and pilots, defining success criteria with the customer and driving them to a documented technical win.
Deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations that map platform capabilities to customer and industry-specific outcomes.
Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security and compliance questionnaires, and lead technical validation with IT, security, and compliance stakeholders.
Clearly articulate the value of Docufree’s AI paired with certified human-in-the-loop accuracy for regulated, high cost-of-failure workflows, to both technical and executive audiences.
Enable and support channel partners and the dealer network with technical training, demonstrations, and joint POCs so partners can position and deliver Docufree effectively.
Deliver training and onboarding to customers and internal sales staff, building product fluency and reducing time-to-value after the sale.
Serve as the voice of the customer to Product and Engineering, channeling field and competitive feedback into the platform roadmap.
Maintain deep, current expertise on the Docufree platform, the competitive landscape, and AI developments relevant to document and process automation.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Presales Consultant, with a track record of owning the technical win in complex B2B sales.
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate credibly with both technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to scope and run proofs of concept (POCs) and pilots, defining and driving success criteria to a documented technical win.
- Hands-on experience delivering technical product demonstrations and leading discovery in a fast-paced, quota-carrying sales environment.
- Working knowledge of SaaS architecture, APIs and integrations, cloud platforms, and enterprise security and compliance concepts.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities and POCs without losing momentum.
- 5 or more years of experience in a sales engineering, solutions engineering, or presales role, or a proven track record and relevant experience that demonstrates the skills required to succeed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Sales engineering experience at a SaaS or AI-based software company, ideally in the same industry as Docufree (document capture, ECM, IDP, or business process automation).
- Experience selling into regulated industries (financial services, insurance, government and education, healthcare, or legal) and to enterprise, multi-stakeholder buying groups.
- Experience working with and enabling channel partners, resellers, or a dealer network in a presales capacity.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML-based solutions, intelligent document processing, RPA, or workflow automation, and with CRM tools (such as Salesforce).
- Familiarity with consultative, outcome-based selling and value-engineering frameworks.
