About the role
In-Place Machining Company (IPM) is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Sales Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, field service, machining, industrial maintenance, or technical sales. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience and a passion for solving complex mechanical challenges while building long-term relationships with customers across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to understand challenges and deliver tailored engineering solutions
- Develop quotes, estimates, and technical scopes of work that win business
- Showcase IPM’s capabilities and value through presentations and on-site visits
- Review drawings, assess job sites, and identify new opportunities for growth
- Build long-term relationships with customers across diverse industries
- Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and marketing to expand market reach
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, field service, machining, industrial maintenance, or technical sales
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T preferred)
- Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software
- Highly organized, accountable, and driven to follow through
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience, technical training, or certifications will be considered
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and customer relationship-building skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
