About the role
Applied Optoelectronics, Inc., located in Sugar Land, Texas, is seeking a full-time Sales Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Preparing technical proposals, product roadmaps, and executive-level presentations synthesizing engineering, financial, and market data.
- Carrying out quantitative analysis of demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and supplier availability using statistical modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques.
- Defining product plans including key component control, competitive strength, and value delivery.
- Developing pricing strategies, revenue-optimization models, and margin analyses for customized technical solutions under capacity and cost constraints.
- Evaluating sourcing strategies, production-localization options, and supplier-qualification plans through scenario modeling and prescriptive analytics.
- Managing multiple product lines through their lifecycles including product strategy, market requirements analysis, and pricing.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
- 6 months related work experience
- 3 credit hours academic coursework related to Prescriptive Analytics
- 3 credit hours academic coursework related to Revenue Management & Dynamic Pricing
