About the role
The Sales Director, Americas is responsible for driving profitable growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction across the region for the Industrial Computed Tomography portfolio, including equipment, software, services, and aftermarket solutions. Reporting to the Global Sales Director, this role leads a multidisciplinary team of Sales Managers and Application Engineers to develop strategic customer relationships, identify market opportunities, manage complex technical sales cycles, and deliver sustainable revenue growth. The Sales Director serves as a key member of the global commercial leadership team and acts as the voice of the customer within the business. The role requires a strong blend of commercial leadership, technical understanding, strategic account management, and organizational leadership.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute the regional growth strategy for North America & Latam.
- Deliver annual orders, revenue, margin, and operating plan commitments.
- Drive pipeline generation, forecast accuracy, opportunity management, and sales execution.
- Lead strategic account planning for key customers in aerospace, automotive, electronics, battery manufacturing, energy, research, and industrial manufacturing.
- Manage and coach Sales Managers to achieve business objectives and accelerate commercial effectiveness.
- Identify and develop new market opportunities, channels, and partnerships.
- Support pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
- Lead executive-level customer engagement and escalation management.
- Technical Sales & Application Engineering Leadership
- Ensure alignment between commercial objectives and application engineering resources.
- Drive conversion of application studies into commercial opportunities.
- Champion customer-focused solution selling by combining hardware, software, and service offerings.
- Ensure technical differentiation of Industrial CT solutions against competitive offerings.
- Business Management
- Own regional forecasting, business reviews, and commercial operating rhythm.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, competitive activities, and emerging technologies.
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Service, Operations, and Marketing teams.
- Provide regional input into product roadmap and innovation priorities.
- Drive adoption of CRM tools, sales processes, and standard work.
- People Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing commercial and technical talent.
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Coach Sales Managers and Application Engineers through regular performance reviews and development planning.
- Foster collaboration across global commercial teams and functional organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial B2B sales, business development, or commercial leadership.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing sales teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex capital equipment sales.
- Experience with technical solution selling and consultative sales approaches.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding commercial targets.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, and contract negotiations.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America and sometimes in Latin America.
- Fluent in English.
