Sales Director, Public Affairs
Sales and Revenue Generation
Identify, pursue, and close direct sales opportunities with public affairs firms, trade associations, corporate government affairs teams, and issue advocacy organizations. Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, ensuring strong deal flow and accurate forecasting.
Account Growth and Strategy
Develop strategic account plans to expand IQM’s footprint across the public affairs and issue advocacy ecosystem. Drive renewals and incremental spend through consultative selling and long term relationship building.
Client Advisory
Serve as a trusted advisor by aligning IQM’s data, platform, and audience capabilities with issue campaign objectives. Guide clients on stakeholder audience targeting, legislative district precision, and compliant programmatic execution across year-round advocacy efforts.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Ad Operations, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to support onboarding, campaign execution, post campaign analysis, and client enablement.
Pipeline and Reporting
Maintain accurate deal records, activity tracking, and forecasts in HubSpot. Contribute to pipeline reviews and share best practices across the Political and Advocacy Sales team.
Qualifications
- 4 to 6+ years of experience in ad tech, digital media sales, or programmatic platforms, with strong understanding of data driven campaign execution.
- 4 to 8+ years of experience in public affairs, issue advocacy, corporate government relations, or campaign consulting, with deep familiarity across the full advocacy lifecycle.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed seven figure sales quotas in competitive public affairs or advocacy advertising environments.
- Strong understanding of DSPs, DMPs, stakeholder audience data, issue-based targeting, and measurement within public affairs media.
- Comfortable navigating bipartisan and multi-stakeholder environments and building long term trust with senior decision makers.
- Highly organized, strategic, and motivated by owning outcomes in fast-paced advocacy and policy environments.
