Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build strong, lasting relationships across the target customer organization.
  • Understand their needs and objectives and leverage this information to deliver exceptional value to the customer.
  • Manage complex sales situations for the broad Adtran portfolio, including Optical Transport, Carrier Ethernet, Broadband, CPE, and Software.
  • Work closely with other members of the sales team, solutions engineering, and product management to formulate plans, initiatives, goals, and objectives for Adran sales activities to rapidly expand market share.
  • Develop and execute both short and long-range sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management, to ensure the profitability and growth of the company's products.
  • Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs within the service provider market.
  • Identify the strategic business opportunities and potential tactics needed to win new business opportunities.
  • Work with product management to identify and evaluate new opportunities for existing products.
  • Identify and communicate the opportunity for potential new products and solutions for the national service provider markets.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of Adtran products, current technology, future industry trends, relevant competitive solutions, products, and services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Science or related field required.
  • 5+ years of field sales experience calling on service provider accounts.
  • Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Adtran's business philosophy, familiar with Adtran technologies, and understand how Adtran fits into the marketplace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
  • Extensive travel is required in this position to support Adtran's sales objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Computer Information Science is preferred.
