Sales Director - Educational Solutions
This role may be based anywhere within the United States. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zones to support collaboration, travel, and customer engagement needs.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth across K-12 and Higher Education markets.
- Lead and coach a team of sales consultants, while supporting field sales efforts and strengthening dealer capabilities.
- Identify and pursue strategic opportunities with school districts, colleges, universities, and education partners.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with education decision-makers, customers, and dealer partners.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Dealer Development, Research, and Smith System teams to expand market impact and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, competitive activity, and performance data to inform strategy, pipeline development, and resource deployment.
- Drive education-focused programs, customer experiences, training initiatives, and sales execution to achieve revenue and market growth objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive sales experience
- Experience working within K-12 and/or Higher Education environments
- Ability to travel 50% of the time
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results without direct authority
- Experience collaborating across multiple functions and stakeholder groups to achieve business objectives
- Demonstrated success developing and executing sales strategies that drive growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field
- Sales leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Experience working within a matrixed organization and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience in education, contract furniture, commercial interiors, or related industries
- Strong strategic selling, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to use data and market insights to drive growth

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $157,300 - $245,800 USD. Base salary ranges may be higher in select metropolitan and premium-pay markets within the United States. Additional compensation information will be provided during the recruitment process upon request.
