About the Role
As Sales Director at Cartier Costa Mesa, you will lead business development initiatives, drive sales performance, and foster an inclusive, high-performing team to deliver exceptional client experiences in a luxury retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and/or exceed Sales Plans and lead business development initiatives.
- Drive the sales team to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Maximize business opportunities by creating synergies and efficiency across the boutique.
- Define and implement the business development strategy for High Jewelry in partnership with the HJ sales manager.
- Collaborate with Corporate Departments (e.g., visual merchandising, marketing) to analyze and leverage business opportunities.
- Assess local market opportunities to develop and implement a proactive sales strategy.
- Partner with Regional and Boutique Client Engagement Directors to enhance clienteling strategies for new client acquisition and retention.
- Actively promote networking activities, including client events.
- Motivate and support the sales team, including managers and associates, through strategic communication and coaching.
- Conduct regular team meetings to align staff with targets and client experience best practices.
- Oversee administrative and HR tasks, such as scheduling, payroll, and overtime management.
- Actively recruit and maintain a talent pipeline.
- Lead the performance management process, including biannual performance reviews and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and united work environment.
- Ensure exceptional client experiences and develop long-term client relationships.
- Model luxury experience behavior and maintain a regular presence on the sales floor.
- Support boutique management with controllable operating expenses, including monitoring, analysis, and cost optimization.
- Partner with Operations and Service Salon Managers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with daily boutique setup and closing as needed.
- Possess deep knowledge of Cartier’s brand, products, and heritage to convey values effectively.
- Promote and implement new technology-based service tools.
- Comply with Cartier security and operational procedures, including product handling and inventory control.
- Understand the local marketplace and client demographic.
- Uphold Cartier’s image as a brand ambassador through professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience, particularly in luxury retail.
- Availability to work retail hours, including weekends.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proactive approach to analyzing business and human resource needs.
- Ability to project an approachable and professional image.
Qualifications
- MBA preferred.
- Additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian) are a plus.

Pay
Expected salary range: $150,000 to $160,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
