About the role
We are seeking a Sales Director to maintain the quality, efficiency, and integrity of Supermicro's sales process through marketing activities and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and Programs. This role evaluates new and existing opportunities for our computing solutions, works with prospects to understand their needs, and negotiates successful partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Develop new accounts in the assigned region.
- Approach customers in Government, Data Centers/Cloud, Gaming, and HPC sectors.
- Conduct outbound cold calls to potential customers (e.g., System Integrators, VARs, OEMs).
- Identify and develop new accounts, creating target lists for vertical markets.
- Initiate outbound calls (direct and indirect) to potential customers.
- Manage and overcome objections while building superior customer service relationships.
- Qualify opportunities and develop target lists for vertical markets.
- Communicate product and marketing information effectively to build relationships.
- Monitor inventory, negotiate pricing, enter and monitor orders, facilitate credit issues, and negotiate returns.
- Track and report data on lead activity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a similar field (preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years of sales experience in the computer market industries, including cold calling, lead qualifying, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Passion for sales activities and experience tracking and reporting lead activity data.
- Successful experience selling technology into corporate accounts.
- Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines, cultures, and geographies.
- Proven track record of credible cold calling and follow-up with executives and decision-makers.
- Good understanding of OEM, Web 2.0, Large Enterprise, and Data Center markets.
- Demonstrated ability in pre-call planning, opportunity qualification, objection handling, call structure, time, and territory management.
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in English (speaking and writing); bilingual skills are a plus.
Pay
Salary range: $131,000 – $205,000. The offered salary will depend on factors such as location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. Candidates may also be eligible for participation in bonus and equity award programs.
