Sales Leadership & Strategy
The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the company's sales strategy to drive revenue growth, profitability, market share expansion, and customer retention. This position leads a team of Regional Sales Managers and oversees all sales channels. The Director of Sales collaborates closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership to ensure the alignment of company objectives.
Customer & Channel Management
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers.
- Aid in business reviews with customers to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and strengthen partnerships.
- Oversee all sales channels, including Grocery, Convenience Stores, Distributors, Brokers, Wholesalers, Vending, and Private Label business.
- Attend and represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as required.
Pricing, Promotions & Profitability
- Develop, implement, and evaluate promotional programs, rebate programs, discounts, allowances, and other sales initiatives across all sales channels.
- Collaborate with the General Manager/Controller on pricing strategies, SKU rationalization, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Review and approve promotional payments, rebate claims, and sales program expenditures.
Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Maintain metric-based sales tracking systems to improve accountability and results.
- Prepare periodic sales reports detailing sales volume, forecast accuracy, market opportunities, and expansion initiatives.
- Review sales performance against budgets, forecasts, quotations, and promotional programs to determine effectiveness.
Financial & Contract Management
- Establish and manage customer terms, conditions, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all approved sales programs, pricing structures, and contractual obligations.
- Review customer agreements and contracts, recommend revisions as necessary, and coordinate final approval with executive leadership and legal counsel.
- Review reclamation reports and payment requests to ensure compliance with company policies and approved programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service to support company growth initiatives and customer satisfaction.
- Aid in identifying technology and CRM requirements to improve sales effectiveness and reporting capabilities.
- Work closely with Customer Service to ensure exceptional support across all sales channels.
