About the role

The electrical grid is the largest and most complicated machine ever built. Yes Energy's industry-leading electric power trading analytics software provides real-time visibility into the massive amount of data generated by the North American electrical grid daily. Our unique and innovative view of the data informs real-time trading decisions and mid-to-long-term investment decisions that keep utility prices low, support the energy transition, and keep the grid running.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up quickly and professionally with marketing-generated inbound leads, demo requests, content downloads, webinar attendees, event leads, and other prospects.
  • Qualify inbound interest by understanding each prospect’s role, business priorities, use case, timing, and potential fit for Yes Energy solutions.
  • Schedule qualified discovery calls for Account Executives and Account Managers.
  • Create a strong first impression of the Yes Energy brand through thoughtful, helpful, and timely communication.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives and Account Managers to route qualified opportunities, provide context, and ensure a smooth handoff.
  • Work with Marketing to provide feedback on lead quality, campaign performance, common prospect questions, and conversion trends.
  • Maintain accurate lead, account, and activity records in Salesforce.
  • Learn Yes Energy’s products, target personas, customer use cases, and the fundamentals of power markets.
  • Develop strong sales habits, including discovery, qualification, objection handling, follow-up, prioritization, and professional communication.
  • Build the skills and industry knowledge needed to move into a BDR role with broader outbound and account-based prospecting responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, recruiting, marketing, business development, or another customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up consistently.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Interest in building a career in SaaS sales.
  • Comfortable learning new tools, systems, and technical concepts.

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of energy markets or a strong desire to learn the power landscape.
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM.
  • Prior experience qualifying leads, setting meetings, or working with customers.
  • Familiarity with sales engagement tools, marketing automation platforms, or lead routing processes.

  • Stakeholder Focus: Skilled at identifying stakeholder problems and managing expectations with empathy and responsiveness.

  • Prioritization & Time Management: Discipline to balance competing demands and manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Energy Industry Knowledge: Foundational understanding of energy markets or a strong desire to learn the power landscape.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience using Salesforce.com for lead management and tracking is preferred.
  • Team Focused: A collaborative approach to working with small teams on projects that impact business success.

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 plus commission; Potential OTE: Up to $82,500 depending on experience
