The Role
Find the hard-tech companies that fit, reach the controls engineer or plant manager who feels the pain, and book them into a meeting they're glad they took.
What You'll Do
- Build the target list with our ICP screen: hard-tech factories, process plants, machine builders.
- Quality in, quality out. Run personalized outbound every day: email, LinkedIn, phone, and the occasional trade-show floor.
- Volume matters but nothing goes out that reads like a bot. Hit the road about 25% of the time: door-to-door pitching at industrial parks and machine shops, first-pass demos on the prospect's floor, and conferences with us, pre-booked meetings, same-day follow-up.
- Qualify inbound and outbound alike: real pain, real authority, real timeline. Remove bad fits fast.
- Book and prep the founders' meetings, and keep the CRM honest: a tight brief before every call, every touch logged, every follow-up on time, pipeline numbers the founders can trust.
- Run an AI-first desk with judgment: agents draft your research and first passes, you do the thinking and the personal touch. We dial in messaging by hand before we automate anything.
What You'll Bring
- Evidence of grit with a scoreboard: sports, service, a side business, door-to-door, anything where you kept score and kept going. This job is taking a hundred no's to find the yes.
- You write short, sharp, and human. Your cold email sounds like a person who did their homework, because you did.
- Phone and doorstep courage. You'll cold call and cold walk into machine shops and rocket factories, and a no doesn't dent you.
- Genuine curiosity about how things get made. You'll learn to talk shop with controls engineers, and you'll like it.
- Organized to a fault, and coachable: follow-ups never drop, notes are current, you know exactly where every prospect stands, and you want the weekly call-and-email review rather than dreading it.
- AI-forward: you already use AI to research and draft faster, and you know an automated-sounding email is worse than no email.
Nice to Have
- Prior SDR or BDR time, especially for technical or industrial products.
- You've seen a shop floor: family business, trade, internship, or a job that got your hands dirty.
- You've sold something before. Retail, fundraising, and door-to-door all count.
Compensation
- $60,000–$85,000 base, with $85,000–$120,000 on-target earnings including commission, plus equity.
Benefits
- Significant stock option packages
- 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (premium PPO and HMO options)
- Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays
- Free daily catered lunch and dinner
