About the role
This program prepares you for a future role as an Outside Sales Representative at United Rentals, one of the world’s largest equipment rental providers.
Responsibilities
- Shadow both sales and operational roles at a local branch to understand the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
- Join a digital onboarding class to sharpen your sales techniques and build a strong internal support network.
- Engage in outbound sales campaigns covering various construction verticals, customer segments, and equipment types.
- Master United Rentals’ sales tools, including CRM, inventory management platforms, and mobile applications.
- Lead high-level sales conversations, negotiate prices, and manage customer relationships.
- Participate in team initiatives such as safety huddles, customer appreciation events, and charity drives.
- Track your progress through achievement levels and receive feedback from leadership meetings and call coaching sessions.
- Spend approximately 4-6 months in the Sales Development Program before potentially transitioning to an Outside Sales Representative role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a customer-facing sales role (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in computers and mobile devices.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Live within reasonable driving distance of an assigned branch and report on-site Monday through Friday.
