Sales Coordinator- InterContinental Boston

About the role

The Sales Coordinator at InterContinental Boston is responsible for developing business through direct sales solicitation, securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, executing tactical sales plans, maximizing hotel profitability, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to client calls and special requests, obtaining final details, dates, times, and hotel room and meeting room requirements.
• Regularly follow-up with clients and maintain accurate and updated information.
• Copying and delivering deposit checks to the Accounting Department.
• Mailing of departmental correspondence.
• Checking of assigned managers mailbox.
• Accurate message taking and relaying information.
• Provides daily administrative support with a strong emphasis on typing internal BEO’s, proposals, compiling and distributing reports.
• Ensures daily BEO’s are distributed promptly and accurately to appropriate Departments.
• Handles all aspects of special requests for function events processed through the Catering Department.
• Handles all telephone, and email contacts in a professional and timely manner on behalf and in concert with the catering associates.
• Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Self-motivator who can manage the responsibilities of the department without daily supervision.
• Represent the hotel with a positive attitude and professional attire.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to IHG and InterContinental Boston sustainability programs.
• Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Some College plus 1-2 years sales or catering related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
