About the Role
The Sales Consultant represents Southern Glazer’s in the market as a passionate, innovative, and self-motivated member of the Southern Glazer’s family. With a business-oriented and customer-focused mindset, this role is responsible for visiting customers, engaging in consultative sales conversations, and increasing sales revenue. Face-to-face selling, built on trusting relationships, drives maximum value for customers, supplier partners, and the SGWS organization.
Responsibilities
- Build positive, credible, lasting customer relationships based on trust
- Discover and identify customer business growth needs
- Develop a customer business growth plan for each account and build a pipeline of selling opportunities
- Analyze data and insights to increase sales, grow customer business, and achieve objectives
- Regularly pre-plan account visits with an agenda, service purpose, and selling opportunities documented in CRM (Proof)
- Prioritize sales activities based on customer business growth plans
- Visit accounts regularly, capture visit notes, and build visit plans considering previous outcomes
- Maintain deep knowledge of SGWS products and correctly present them in each account
- Propose selling solutions and win sales using consultative selling skills
- Achieve internal SGWS and supplier objectives as prioritized by management
- Manage customer issue resolution and provide useful information to support business growth
- Adapt selling approach based on customer buying styles and business needs
- Stay informed about competitors and SGWS product positioning
- Document and maintain account- and customer-specific information in CRM (Proof)
- Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and supplier events
Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Ability to analyze and understand data
- Proficiency in leveraging SGWS technology and mobile devices (e.g., iPad®, smartphone)
- Skill in building customer presentations and product proposals
- Effective communication skills, tailored to various audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Team player with collaborative skills
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to maintain auto liability insurance
- High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Demands
- Prolonged sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer or mobile device
- Walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- Driving for extended periods, up to 2 hours at a time
- Lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48 lbs
