About the role

The Coast Guard Exchange seeks a Sales Clerk Leader (Wine & Spirits) to support the mission of protecting our nation. This role involves interacting with customers, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with merchandise selection.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist with merchandise selection.
• Maintain product knowledge and assist with merchandise selection.
• Order merchandise, receive, price, and monitor stock levels.
• Communicate with HQ staff for special order requests and merchandise issues.
• Train employees on cash register and front-end duties.
• Operate a cash register, accept payments, and prepare change.
• Collect and verify cash receipts and other documentation.
• Control and secure the change fund, safe, and cash registers.
• Direct/supervise other employees during store openings and closings.
• Follow loss prevention policies and be proactive about shrinkage.
• Follow safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.
• Previous retail supervisory experience preferred.
• Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
• Preferred: Experience operating a cash register, previous retail supervisory experience, and/or current USCG NAF sales clerk experience.
