About the role

Join our team of experienced Sales Associates at Curtis Lumber, a family-owned building materials retailer founded in 1890. As a Sales Associate, you will engage in face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales, providing exceptional customer service and sales skills to meet or exceed company sales and margin goals.

Responsibilities

• Take phone calls, build quotes and orders for pick up or delivery
• Aid in all customers' needs as they enter the store
• Engage in the upkeep, cleanliness, maintenance, restocking, and more in the main store and back storage area(s)
• Understand the building materials marketplace and know product features
• Work to meet prospect customers' needs
• Provide excellent customer service skills
• Utilize effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales techniques
• Employ effective closing techniques
• Follow up on quotes to orders conversions
• Share expertise with others
• Show discretion and earn a discretionary profit share after one year of employment

Requirements

• Comfortable engaging in face to face, phone, and electronic sales
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales skills
• Effective closing techniques
• Quote follow up and quote to order conversion skills
• Discretionary profit share after one year of employment

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or sales preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of building materials and products

Pay

$19 - $21 per hour with annual performance-based raises

Schedule

Full-time 40+ hours per week with set schedule
