Responsibilities
- Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone
- Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner
- Ensures items are rung accurately on the register
- Demonstrates accurate cash handling skills, including making change, operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and using a calculator
- Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customers’ questions courteously and promptly
- Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections
- Maintains a clean, professional appearance
- Maintains an orderly and clean register area
- Maintains familiarity with store security procedures and exercises security practices when necessary
- Performs general housekeeping responsibilities, including store upkeep duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms)
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and associates
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to settle customer complaints
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift)
- Ability to bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently
- Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet
Qualifications
- Preferred: A minimum of six months of previous work experience
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Previous experience working in a retail environment
- Preferred: Excellent customer service-related skills
- Preferred: Working knowledge of a cash register
- Preferred: Multilingual with complete fluency in English
