Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner
• Ensures items are rung accurately on the register
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skills, including making change, operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and using a calculator
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customers’ questions courteously and promptly
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections
• Maintains a clean, professional appearance
• Maintains an orderly and clean register area
• Maintains familiarity with store security procedures and exercises security practices when necessary
• Performs general housekeeping responsibilities, including store upkeep duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms)
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and associates
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to settle customer complaints
• Basic math skills
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift)
• Ability to bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet

Qualifications

• Preferred: A minimum of six months of previous work experience
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Previous experience working in a retail environment
• Preferred: Excellent customer service-related skills
• Preferred: Working knowledge of a cash register
• Preferred: Multilingual with complete fluency in English
