Sales Associate (Thrift Stores)

About the role

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke seeks individuals who can serve as Sales Associates in its thrift stores. This role involves assisting customers with their shopping experience, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and engaging with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with their shopping experience
• Display merchandise to make it easily accessible
• Support the checkout process and answer customer questions
• Provide in-store training
• Perform basic sales and merchandising tasks
• Engage with customers, guests, volunteers, and team members
• Process donations and use of cash registers and computers
• Answer phone calls and transfer/make messages as necessary
• Perform basic housekeeping duties
• Complete other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk
• Show genuine interest in the safety and well-being of guests and team members
• Have basic computer and math skills
• Have strong work ethic and willingness to follow schedules including holidays and weekends
• Have strong listening and communication skills
• Have strong organizational skills

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke offers a competitive compensation package, including a starting hourly wage of $15.00.

Pay

$15.00/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

Schedule

Part-time with flexible schedule between 9am – 6:30pm; Monday – Saturday; Closed on Sundays
