Sales Associate - Southern Region
About the Role
Benjamin Moore & Co. is seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Sales Associate to join our high-energy team and become part of an iconic and growing Berkshire Hathaway family brand. This role is designed as a steppingstone to a Territory Sales Representative position, with a commitment to relocate within a designated region once a Territory Representative role becomes available. The Sales Associate program focuses on developing expert knowledge and skills in our products, programs, and services, preparing you for future advancement.
Onboarding & Training
For the first 10-12 weeks, you will engage in comprehensive onboarding, including:
- Learning all aspects of the paint and coatings industry alongside professionals in R&D, Marketing, Sales Operations, Manufacturing & Distribution, Color and Design, and interdependent retailer locations.
- Attending internal and external product and sales training.
- Participating in market-wide selling events and professional networking events.
- Applying paints and coatings to various substrates and learning to diagnose and troubleshoot product performance issues.
- Becoming a Brand Ambassador by embracing Benjamin Moore’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
After the initial onboarding period, you will gradually take on Territory Representative responsibilities, including:
- Supporting Territory Representatives in meeting sales goals by calling on lower-volume customers to sell products and programs.
- Covering assigned territories as needed to support vacation absences or short/long-term leaves of absence.
- Managing temporarily assigned territories, including scheduling, territory organization, and managing CRM/enterprise systems to drive sales and increase profitability.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through a consultative, customer-centric approach in a team environment.
- Establishing yourself as the customer’s “go-to” expert by combining technical knowledge, business acumen, and a thoughtful customer approach.
- Cultivating new business opportunities alongside experienced Territory Representatives.
- Continuing to grow in Benjamin Moore’s values by assisting in architectural and industrial product training, sales blitzes, promotional campaigns, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Able and willing to relocate within a designated region (identified at the time of interview) and to the assigned territory after the Sales Associate program concludes, typically within 8-12 months.
- Available for up to 80% travel, sometimes overnight, to attend training and other events.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- A four-year college degree preferred, or a combination of 4 years of college and customer-facing work experience.

Pay
USD $53,700.00 - USD $68,700.00 per year.
