Job Summary

No military affiliation is required. As a sales associate, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, learn about our products, and communicate our purpose professionally and positively.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and make a connection with customers, asking questions and listening to their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers, and assist with STAR card transactions.
• Provide premier customer service, cooperate, build positive relationships, and take responsibility for your actions and outcomes.
• Maintain store appearance, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean and welcoming.
• Know the layout of the store and cross-sell products, upsell based on customer needs, and suggest current trends.
• Use a Point-of-Sales system, process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, and credit/debit cards, and count money accurately.
• Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconcile inventory.
• Be the keeper of merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed (may participate in periodic inventories).
• Adhere to assigned work schedule, complete work assignments, and be dependable.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of products/merchandise.
• Experience in retail, preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
• Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending upon location.

Work Hours

Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
