Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Absorb and assist customers in locating products and answering their inquiries about merchandise, pricing, and promotions.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other electronic payment methods.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including shelves, displays, and product arrangement.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and organization of products.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all products, including new arrivals and special promotions.
- Keep track of expiration dates and remove any expired or damaged products from the shelves.
- Follow proper food safety and handling procedures when dealing with perishable items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including assisting in opening and closing procedures.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor or manager when necessary.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safety and security protocols.
- Assist with cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
Qualifications
- Must have a people first mentality; “Fast Friendly Service with a Smile”.
- Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, making change, and calculating discounts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attention to detail and the ability to organize and arrange merchandise effectively.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and experience with operating cash registers or POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
