Sales Associate, Part Time, Vince, Woodbury Commons, NY

Extended temporary position from August through the end of January.

About the role

The Sales Associate is responsible for generating sales and building customer relationships in our retail stores. Associates who demonstrate high proficiency in interacting with customers and identifying their needs will maximize sales opportunities. The associate will continue client contact beyond the initial sale by capturing name, address, phone, and email contact information, using multiple means to communicate and build relationships. The role also includes maintaining the visual and housekeeping standards of the store, receiving merchandise, processing markdowns, and handling transfers.

Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals agreed upon with your store manager
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of merchandise features and benefits to maximize sales opportunities
• Identify customer needs, overcome objections, and provide solutions as a quick thinker
• Develop client relationships beyond the initial transaction using phone, email, and written follow-up
• Maintain housekeeping and visual standards of the store
• Operate the POS register and email systems with proficiency
• Safeguard store inventory by adhering to the company’s loss prevention program
• Follow all store operational policies and procedures
• Manage client book and clienteling activities
• Lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds and use ladders or stairs for merchandising

Requirements

• Prior experience in retail sales is preferred
• Sales-driven, goal-oriented, and highly personable individual
• Positive, high-energy, friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality
• Willingness to initiate contact with customers and identify their shopping needs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interaction
• Computer skills to operate retail POS system, Word, Excel, and email

Pay

Anticipated base salary range: $18 to $19 hourly, depending on experience, skills, and budget. Geographic location may affect the salary range. This position also receives commission on individual sales.
