About the role

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is hiring Part-Time Sales Associates – Intermittent Liquor Store Clerks (ILSC) for Fine Wine & Good Spirits Store #4804. You’ll be the face of the store – engaging with customers, assisting with sales, and contributing to a positive shopping atmosphere in a fast-paced retail environment. Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, helping shoppers find what they need
• Manage sales transactions with a computerized cash register
• Unload shipments, stock shelves, and set up product displays
• Receive, assemble, and pack wholesale customer orders, loading them into vehicles
• Safely lift products – occasionally overhead or from a squatting position from the floor – weighing 30 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds, ensuring both personal safety and product protection
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Keep the store clean and organized
• Utilize scanners, box cutters, dollies, carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
• Follow all legal guidelines to ensure alcohol is sold only to customers who are legally permitted to buy it
• Work in a friendly, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement (see Residency Guidelines for details)
• Must be able to perform essential job functions
• Must pass a background investigation
• An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code; other criminal convictions reviewed case-by-case

Pay

The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed and is not negotiable.

Schedule

• Permanent, part-time employment
• Preferred availability: 20 to 32 hours per week
• Store hours: Monday through Saturday 8:00 am – 9:15 pm; Sunday 10:30 am – 7:15 pm
• Flexible shifts typically ranging from 4 to 7 hours per shift
• Availability on a rotating basis scheduled during the week and weekend with daytime and evening hours
• Minimum of 13 hours per week required; opportunity to work up to 32 hours per week depending on availability
• Schedule details may change due to operational needs; applicants may be required to work schedules not outlined above
• No telework option
• Headquartered at Store #4804 (Stefko Boulevard Shopping Center); may be assigned to work in other stores within the county or district based on operational needs
