About the role

Part-time Sales Associates are at the heart of Five Below's energy, delivering outstanding customer service and driving strong sales. We look for candidates with excellent people skills, attention to detail, and a passion for keeping the store well-stocked and organized.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns, using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions and turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management.
• Support team and company goals, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potential overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (e.g., cash registers, handheld and mobile devices).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage courteously and professionally with customers.
• Ability to handle customer interactions and potential issues with problem-solving skills.
• Learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.

Essential Job Functions

• Frequently operate a cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet.
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers, managers, and coworkers, both in-person and via telephone.
• Frequently move across the sales floor and between the stock room and sales floor.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, schedules, and standard operating procedures.
