Sales Associate (Part-Time) - McIntyre Square, McIntyre Square Drive, Pittsburgh

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is hiring Part-Time Sales Associates – Intermittent Liquor Store Clerks (ILSC) to join Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores in a dynamic, customer-focused retail environment.

About the role

As a Part-Time Sales Associate, you’ll engage with customers, assist with sales, and contribute to a positive shopping atmosphere in a fast-paced retail setting. These positions are eligible for Affordable Care Act / Bronze Plan medical benefits from the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, helping shoppers find what they need.
• Manage sales transactions with a computerized cash register.
• Unload shipments, stock shelves, and set up product displays.
• Receive, assemble, and pack wholesale customer orders, loading them into vehicles.
• Safely lift products – occasionally overhead or from a squatting position from the floor – weighing 30 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization.
• Utilize scanners, box cutters, dollies, carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Follow all legal guidelines to ensure alcohol is sold only to customers who are legally permitted to buy it.
• Work in a friendly, team-oriented environment.

Schedule

• Store hours: Monday – Saturday, 7:00am – 10:30pm; Sunday, 10:30am – 7:30pm.
• Flexible shifts typically range from 4 – 8 hours per shift.
• Minimum of 13 hours per week required; opportunity to work up to 32 hours per week based on availability.
• Preferred availability: 28 – 32 hours per week, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours on a rotating basis.
• Applicants must be available for both daytime and evening shifts; cannot accommodate only opening or only closing shift availability.
• Schedule details may change due to operational needs.

This store is located within McIntyre Square, offering free parking for staff and proximity to food and restaurant options.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions, including lifting 30 to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 60 pounds) and standing for extended periods.
• Must pass a background investigation; applicants with a felony conviction within the last ten years are not permitted to work for the PLCB.
• Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is fixed at the minimum rate for new Commonwealth employees and is not negotiable.

Location

You will be headquartered at Store #0232 but may be assigned to work in other stores within the county or district based on operational needs. Applications are non-transferrable; you must be willing to work at the listed location.

Telework is not an option for this position.
