Sales Associate (Part-Time) - Dayton Mall, Dayton, OH

About the role

A Part‑Time Sales Associate is expected to drive selling efforts and customer relationships by excelling in customer service and selling techniques. The role includes product merchandising, product sales, customer relations, and store maintenance, with a focus on customer service, sales, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Display basic fashion and trend knowledge and satisfy customer needs by selling appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards and building relationships.
• Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
• Present a positive, energetic, outgoing impression to each customer and demonstrate enthusiasm toward the job and company.
• Comply with all company policies.
• Embrace service training and product programs.
• Ensure visual standards are followed, daily restock is completed, and adequate size runs are represented per visual directions.
• Assist in eliminating both employee and customer theft.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
• Assist with keeping the store organized as directed by store management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in retail or customer service is preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Excellent command of the English language for effective communication with management, customers, and employees.
• Basic fashion and style trend knowledge with a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
• Problem‑solving, analytical, and detail‑orientation abilities.
• Flexibility, strong communication, and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service, accurate inventory control, merchandise transport, and store maintenance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
• Reliable transportation.

Compensation

Pay range: $11.00 – $12.00 per hour. This role is eligible for the company 401(k) plan.
